Counselling with a Masters-level Counselling Intern
Looking for a more affordable counselling option?
Meet Karen Boley!
I’m excited to introduce Karen Boley, a masters-level intern in Counselling Psychology at Yorkville University, who will be joining me at Waves Health Collective starting May 2025. Karen is offering reduced-rate sessions for adult individuals, available both in person and online.
As her practicum supervisor, I’ll be providing ongoing support and guidance as Karen builds on her clinical skills. Master’s-level interns like Karen have completed most of their graduate coursework, demonstrated strong counselling competencies, and have been approved by their university to begin working with clients in a supervised setting.
Working with a practicum intern is a unique opportunity: clients receive thoughtful, attentive care from a developing therapist, along with the added support of a seasoned supervision team. In Karen’s case, that means every session is backed by a collaborative approach to assessment and treatment planning.
Karen comes to this role with a background in perinatal mental health, education, and healthcare research. She supports clients navigating anxiety, depression, life transitions, self confidence, postpartum challenges, stress management and burnout, and has a special interest in neurodivergence and cross-cultural concerns.
Outside of her professional work, Karen enjoys weaving creativity into her life. She’s a lifelong musician, enjoys lapidary work, and makes beaded jewelry. She also loves spending time with her family walking the beaches of South Delta.
